In 1989 I was working for a Honda, Isuzu, and Suzuki car dealership in Central Florida. During what some considered a recession, in 1991, I moved to a Honda dealership in an area with a high concentration of retired people. I learned that the trust factor a customer gives their technician can form a long lasting relationship beneficial to the dealership, technician, and the customer. When I moved to North Carolina, in 1993 , I had the skills to enter almost any dealership. The dealership that looked the best to me was Leith Honda in Raleigh, NC. At the time they were not hiring, but I was able to persuade the Service Manager and the Parts - Service Director to give me a chance. Given  that chance I stayed for almost 16 years. I learned a tremendous amount while working for Leith. I was surrounded by motivated and talented co-workers. I took advantage of any training that was available and achieved my Honda Master Technician status before I was 24 years old. I achieved my ASE Master Technician Certification that year also. While at Leith I also developed a very strong personal customer base. Many of these customers would only allow me to work on their cars. Now that I have my own shop I want to continue to build strong relationships with my current and new customers.
